I've learned a lot from working on this project. The first is Malaysian history, which I was unable to learn while attending an overseas school. This project gave me the chance to learn more about how Kuala Lumpur, the centre of our city, was built and, more importantly, how buildings work as markers of development and evolution. Instead of only focusing on tourists and shopping, I now view the streets of Kuala Lumpur through the prism of social culture and history. Since I learnt to observe not only the physical surroundings or things that can be found online, but also people, relationships, and the atmosphere that little factors add to and would not be something uploaded, it boosted my site observation abilities.
I can surely improve in the manual skills, though. Some ideas and feelings are tough for me to sketch out on paper. In the future, I'd like to become more proficient in this language. I also wish I could perceive light and shadow more clearly and that my colouring skills were more advanced. I'll hunt for a better parking spot on Jalan Tun H.S. Lee the next time!
I've picked up a tonne of new knowledge. The first is an introduction to research paper writing for beginners. Despite the fact that it wasn't a real research paper, we were given an introduction to its topic, abstract, methods, conclusion, and references. Additionally, it was the first time I had heard about conceptual framework construction. At first, it was quite difficult to understand since slow thinking was required—tougher than we had anticipated and unquestionably harder than thinking quickly. We eventually got the essence of it under our tutor's direction. It was fascinating to study how one building's design changed over time and how non-tangible factors like the sort of business operating there and the region's economic development had a role.
When it comes to comprehending the process of conducting research, I can surely do better. I found it quite difficult to think slowly and methodically, especially when handling the conceptual framework. Due to my limited vocabulary and difficulty maintaining my attention on the subject, I found it difficult to expound on my ideas. I want to work on developing my professional vocabulary and my ability to think creatively. I also did not spend my time well because I attended all of the meetings because of conflicts with my club activities. I would make academics a higher priority in the future out of respect for my amazing group members and my responsibilities.
